Serving at NDUMC

North Decatur UMC is a church that takes seriously Jesus's call to welcome the stranger. New volunteers are always welcome to join our hospitality ministry as we share our love of God and love of God's church with newcomers.

Hospitality volunteers serve as friendly faces to welcome folks into our parking lot and through our doors on Sunday mornings. Only skills needed are smiling, pointing and caring. The Coffee Crew is part of our hospitality team. They keep the coffee fresh and sometimes provide baked goodies.

Worship volunteers serve as ushers, scripture readers, and communion servers during worship.

Music ministry volunteers sing in the choir or play an instrument. Click here to learn more about our music and worship arts ministry.

We also gather to clean up the church grounds several times a year and for special events.

Visitation ministry

NDUMC is diverse in ages and abilities. There are some among us who are unable to attend the worship services and activities due to age or illness, yet remain faithful to our mission. We are always seeking volunteers who can give just an hour of their time every so often to visit our homebound members.
