North Decatur UMC is a church that takes seriously Jesus's call to welcome the stranger and care for each other. This list was updated in September 2021 to reflect our changing and renewing ministries! We need your help in this time of growth, please consider volunteering.
We have in-person and virtual volunteer roles, as well as roles that can be done on a flexible schedule. Contact the church office for more details on any of these volunteer opportunities.
Online Worship Hosts welcome everyone to online worship with comments and likes, and post links mentioned in announcements.
In-Person Hospitality Volunteers serve as friendly faces to welcome folks into our parking lot and through our doors on Sunday mornings. Some volunteers check people in, others help them find a seat and a bulletin.
Bus Drivers transport our senior members who can no longer drive but are still a vital part of our church.
Contact Patrick to discuss this opportunity.
Sound and Slides volunteers keep our in-person worship running smoothly and sounding clear.
Music Ministry soloists and instrumentalists lead the music in worship on Sundays. We hope our choir will be singing again soon as well. You can perform in-person in the sanctuary, or in-person outside, or virtually - whatever your comfort level is!
Contact Sandra for more information.
The Prayer Team prays over any prayer requests that are sent over email.
Contact Mary Gene Lee to join the prayer team.
The Visitation Team sends cards to our homebound members, visits senior members in their home or long-term care facility, or contacts senior members by phone.
