Come join a Lenten practice of your particular artistic inclinations and weekly readings and/or videos (e.g. Ted Talks) about the relationship between spirituality and the arts, on the 6 Sundays of Lent – March 6 -April 10 – from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. This gathering will be led by Anne Burkholder as a pilot for a possible course for spring semester of 2023 that will focus on this topic in greater detail and include both students from Candler and members of North Decatur UMC. Come whether you are a visual artist, a mandala maker, a textile artist, a poet, a composer, creative writer, or something else as we delve into the meaning of art for you personally and as a form of spiritual growth and ministry. Be sure to bring your own materials! We will have time for both discussion of the readings/videos and studio work. Children are welcome.
