LENT AT NDUMC

Lent begins this year on Ash Wednesday, March 5. Amidst these tumultuous times, we invite you into an intentional journey of reflection, prayer, conversation and spiritual practice called Lenten Whole40, designed by our spiritual director Kimberly Broerman. Rather than “give up” one individually chosen thing for Lent, we will try on a recommended weekly fast. These fasts make space for weekly feasts--spiritual practices designed to be more nourishing and sustaining. Through self-observation, personal prayer, and group dialogue, we’ll wonder how we can live the abundant life Jesus promises. How can we draw upon God, experience the gift of being, having, and doing enough, without feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, stressed and distracted all the time? Come experiment with us!

Sundays at 11:15am in the NDUMC Fellowship Hall

Gathering around tables, we’ll share our own observations and experiences of the weekly practices, deepening our connections. All classes and persons are invited to participate.

Community Feast - Sunday, March 23rd

Mid-way through our Lenten journey, we’ll celebrate and practice what we’re learning by sharing dishes and activities that delight and restore us, strengthening the bonds of our faith community.

WHOLE 40 EXPIRIMENTATION KIT

Everyone will receive the Whole40 Experimentation Guide, and a weekly Monday morning email to let you know of the week’s theme, fast and feast. We also invite you to download and enjoy the Whole40 playlist on Spotify. 


For an additional $10, you may purchase the full Whole40 Experimentation Kit, which includes the Guide, Daily Scripture Reflection cards, a journal, a distraction device sleeping bag, and water bottle sticker. Included with the retreat, or available on Sunday, March 2 and Wednesday, March 5 (But must pre-order!).
